Welcome to Haddington & District Amateur Swimming Club

For all the latest club information click here.

We are Haddington and District ASC. Formed in 1975, we have swimmers as young as 7 from all over East Lothian coming together to improve their swimming skills in a fun and competitive enviroment.

We have four  training groups and swimmers are allocated to a squad depending on their ability when they join. Progression is made through the squads as technique and speed imrpove. To see what you need to do to move squad, click here. Our head coach leads the coaching team and acts as a link between the coaches and parents.

Each squad has a qualified coach who organises a swimming program and poolside helpers assist them. All our coaches and poolside helpers have excellent training programmes and ideas which are designed to help all of our swimmers improve ensuring we include every swimmer regardless of their needs.

The Club Committee, elected annually at our AGM in September meets regularly throughout the year. The committee is made up of swimmers parents who wish to take an active role in helping the Club grow and develop. All our swimmers ideas and opinions are listened to and the Club Captains, elected by the swimmers, take these to the committee.

The club constitution covers all our policies, including Child Protection Policy and the Disciplinary Policy. These policies are here to protect the swimmers and the adults involved with them. A copy of the constitution is available on request from the club secretary, alternatively click here to view it online.

The club is, of course, closely linked with SASA, the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association which is the controlling body for swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming in Scotland. As a member of SASA we can take part in all levels of competition from local club events up to National Championships. SASA is split into four districts and  Haddington is part of the East District.
